Tree that stands alone, Something different for me

Tree that stand alone

We are starting now with Challenge #17 at Cards for Men, if you would like to join us the challenge is ANYTHING GOES  but you need to remember you need to make a MAN OR A BOYS CARD.  The challenge starts today and ends August 28th. Our sponsor for this challenge is Hope Jacare. The image is called “Bird in a Tree”. My background paper is from the Angel Company. My dots are made from the Pearl Pen color Sunny Yellow.  You can win 3 digi’s from her designs

I'm a SAHM with three young children. I trained in Textile Design at the Glasgw School of Art and I love all things handmade, but especially papercrafts. I love to doodle ... and my doodles are available to purchase as digital images through Stitchy Bear Stamps.

This is how I did my card. I did a little tutorial for you to sow you how I made the frame around the tree.

I used my brayers to created the colors on my card. I used Kaleidacolor and the ink color I use is Melon Melody, if you have never used this ink it is an ink that you can slide a part after you open the top and it is raised it come in so many different shades of colors it is by Tsukineko.

I punched the edges with Carl Carla Craft corner punch. When you start with your thread you need to start on the back and tape it close to the edge. Very thin Metallic thread when I wrapped it around several times on one side to give it a thicker look.

4 5

Go to the next punched area and wrap it around several times for the thickness, and so fourth.

This is a picture of Carl Carla Craft corner punch.

Here is the finished framed card. I hope you enjoyed my simple card. We had a wonderful week end in Wisconsin the weather was perfect. I hope your week end was just as nice.

Patricia, this is beautiful! I love the colors. and thank you so much for letting me know about the copic certification class. wish i had known about it sooner. i asked around after that and everyone agreed. i tried to get a refund, couldn't do it and am now trying to get the supplies at least (they said no since I won't get certified, but I'm trying to fight it - I mean I'm still paying for a seat right? I don't need to get certified, but I should at least get the supplies). Am now trying to see if someone can attend in my place - since the money is gone. Thanks again! Love your artistic creations.

Beautiful card Pat. I love the bright and cheerful colors you chose. I have yet to use my brayer. Thanks for the inspiration.
