Can I dance?

dancing elf

Here is my card for For Fun Challenge Blog this week and the theme is Christmas. Our Sponsor is Rich St Dennis. The challenge started today and ends on March 29th at 11:59pm. Remember you need to add your card to the For Fun Challenge Blog.

We have a fantastic sponsor this week, Rick St Dennis.... Here is just a little about Rick St. Dennis MFA

Designer of over 100 theatrical productions, Rick St Dennis (Donald McAfee) is also the author of 4 books on decorative painting and contributor to at least a dozen national magazines on crafts and art. He has taught design at the college level as well as seminars and classes across the USA and Canada. He is one of a handful of designers to have designed TWO productions of AIDA, Verdi's massive Egyptian opera spectacle. Currently living in the quiet beach community of Seal Beach, California he writes restaurant reviews and theatre reviews between assignments for web designs, logos and creating art for local shows. Rick has appeared on such TV shows as Home Matters with Susan Powell, Aileen's Crafts and others. He was Crafts editor for Country Folk Art Magazine and sells his artwork nationally through galleries and shows. Among numerous awards he won a presidential commendation in 1976 for his contributions to the bicentennial year including the design of the west coast premier of William Grant Still's opera BAYOU LEGEND. His drawings and paintings are in the collections of Diana Ross, Sandy Duncan, Sammy Davis Jr. and Jacqueline Onnasis amongst others.

Wow... what credentials!  Rick is providing a very generous prize for our challenge winner this week! The prize includes the three images our DT has created magic with, as well as at least three more gorgeous images!  Do go visit his blog here, and his Etsy shop here...

My image is called “Dancing Elf” and it you stop by his shop you can see all of his images. I wanted to make him really festive because he is an entertainer, enjoying himself. He needs all kinds of fancy things so I put earring rime stone (yellow) in his ears red ones on his jacket for the berry. Also I wanted to try and color him in rich colors like reds, greens, purple and gold's. He want to fleshy and sparkle. I used the Gelly Roll Pens Line Star, Red Star, Grape Star, and Gold Star. I punched out on the button with the Fiskers border punch “Snowflakes” and added some gold stickles to where the snowflakes came out. Used Spellbinder Labels Ten 2 of the sizes and layered then. Sponged around the inside oval with Brilliance Mineral ink, the gold color one.

dancing elf botton

This is Spellbinders Fancy tags and the other little swirl you see is from Doodle Parts.  I used and stamped happy holidays (sorry do not know where I got the stamp from) as you can see I put some red and gold dots on the cards also. The paper I used was all Pearlized Card Stock from Paper Studio.

dancing elf snowflakes

I used a Christmas gold ribbon I had here and also some gold snowflakes from Trim a Tree section at Hobby Lobby at Christmas.

dancing elf close up

Here is the close up of my image. Almost forgot I added stars in gold color to his skirt, they are from Stampendous. I want to tell you what copics I used YR24,Y11,Y15,Y00 and that was to get the gold color. E11,E00 for skin. E13,E19 for hair. R39,R37,R35,R32,R20 for the red. V20,V25,V17 for the jacket and the green G21,G24,G28,G29.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY. I hope you enjoyed my card. I know it is wrong time of year and everyone wants to think of spring but you will have a Christmas done for next year.

Many Hugs, Patricia

Pierre and Ernest take a Ride.

Pierre and Ernest

Meet Pierre and Ernest, they are not going to let life just go by they are going to enjoy life so they decided to go for a bike ride and do they look like they are having fun? It is time again for Cards for Men Challenge.

Start Date:  28th March
End Date:  11th April
Theme:  Embossing:  I do want to point this out my card is embossed but you can not see it. I embossed the grass area with a Quic Kutz folder called “Plants” and you can not see the embossed area. I think it works best if you emboss something that has no design on the paper.
Sponsor:  Paper Pretties
Website:  http://www.paperpretties.net/
Blurb:  Paper Pretties is a full-service online crafting store. They have many exclusive stamp lines, from elegant to whimsical, sweet to clever; there is something for every stamper in our Prettie Boutique!

All orders are shipped within 24 hours. Did you see she is in Madison Wisconsin that’s not to far from me.
Prize:  Clear Stamp

The image that I used is called “Pierre and Ernest” and I do have the link above to Paper Pretties if you would like to check out the images they have. The sentiment I used is a Stamp from The Angel Company. The Paper Shapers Punch is what I punch it out with it is the Scalloped Square. The Butterfly is Martha Steward Punch called Monarch. I punched it out twice, I did use sparkle white and yellow paper but it is hard to see and added some yellow rime stones.

PE butterflyOn the handle bars of the bike, I used yard to make the tassels for the handles.Of course their has PE tossels on biketo be some flowers in the grass, so I added just a few.

Pierre and Ernest close up I do think they look like they are having fun. This is the close up of my images. I added some wiggly eyes two both Pierre and Ernest. I added Diamond Glaze from Jude Kinz. I’m sure you can tell I cut the image out, I’m sure you are thinking I can’t believe she even said that. I was trying to think of a background for the image and I thought this would work perfect.

So I left her a comment on her blog that I finally got her card done and it was before the challenge ended and it was going to end March 15. So Stef comments back to me and tells me that she has NO CHALLENGE GOING ON. Oh well!!! I was always late for her challenges anyway. You should stop by Stef store and see what she has just butterfly

Here is a close up of the butterfly it is a sticker from Jalee’s Boutique EK Success. The little lady bug is also a sticker from Busy Kids, Kids Camp. I added some rime stones, pearls, ribbon, designer paper from DCWV, Die Cuts with a View.

A PARTY AT GILLI’S HOUSE AND EVERYONE IS INVITED.

A party at Gillis house

I’m so EXCITED! and let me tell you why? I was asked to be the GUEST DESIGNER AT THE HOUSE OF GILLI CHALLENGE BLOG!! Everyone is unbelievably nice and so helpful. So if you would like to join in on the challenge just click on the link and it will bring your right over to the blog. The Challenge is GREEN. You do not need to use a Gilli girl stamp but if you do, you get extra points. Their is even more great news they have a store, you can find almost anything but most of all you can find Gilli’s Girls Stamps and they are the best. So if you click right here it will bring you to the store and you can see All Gilli’s Girls Stamps designed by Anary, She even has some NEW ones since the last time I was their, Cowgirl Gilli Stamp, Duty Gilli Stamp and Celtic Gilli Stamp their is even more NEW ones. So I put my order in and if you put your order in you will have a Gilli Girl Stamp and get double points. I’m really happy with the way the Stamps are made. They are red rubber and deeply etched so you get a nice clear image every time. For the door handle, lock and mail slot I used Smooch color Silver.

A party at Gills house

Here we go, I’m going to try and tell you about my card. It is 5 1/4 inches by 5 1/4 inches. The doors are the same. I made 2 strips for each side 5 1/4 inches long and 3/4 inches wide, then scored each 1/4 inch 3 times. It kind of makes like a hinge so the doors can open and close. I hope you understand. I do have to tell you the doors are a stamp that I found on line and I copied and paste it in Microsoft word so I was able to enlarge the door to the size I wanted then to be. Now if you want to try to make the card, no promises, you need to let me know you want the door so if you leave a comment leave your email address and I will send the doors to you, remember it is in Microsoft word so if you will have a problem with that then it will not open. Also the windows are not cut out I cut the windows out and used Acetate and glued it to the back of the doors and to my surprise the glue did not show after it dried. The glue I used was Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

A party inside of one of the doors

See how nice the Acetate held and you see no glue. You also can so a little of the hinge of the door so you can get an idea.

A party doors open

Here is a picture with the doors wide open so you can see how everything looks. The 2 stamps I used are called Victorian Gilli Stamp she is on the left and Fairy Gilli Stamp is on the right. I did cut Fairy Gilli Stamp wings off because this is a party for just regular people. Copic Markers I used on the doors are E99, E53, E59, E25 and E33.

A party out side door

A party wreath of clovers

I do want to tell you about the wreath I have on this door. My really good friend Holly crochets and she will send me some flowers and last time she sent me these shamrocks. What a perfect place to put then. So I made a little wreath and put a little metal bow on the front with some scrappers floss colors line and green to tie everything together. I do want to say a BIG THANK YOU AGAIN TO HOLLY BECAUSE I LOVE ALL THE THINGS SHE SENDS. I have Arthritis in my hands and I can not crochet anymore. That why I say Thank God for Copics.

A party room

Her Wallpaper is from Made by Memory Box paper called Brioche. I think Gilli did a wonderful job fixing up her house for her party. I did use copic markers. On Victorian Gilli she is the one on the left for her dress the copic I used are G20, YG63 and YG67. Her hair E35, YR20 and YR21 and skin E11,E02, E00 and R21. Then for Fairy Gilli Her dress G00, G02 and G05. Her hair E11, E15 and E17. I added some dots on her dress with At You Spica Pen color Olive.

A party button

This is a button I found. I thought it would look nice as a wall ornament. I punched out a small shamrock and put it on the button and added some Stickles glitter glue color green. Sorry I do not know who made the punch, no name on the punch.

A party table

Here is the table of course. I punched out two Color Crayons it is a punch from Emagination for the legs of the table. Cut some card stock in half at an angle and added some 1/4 inch Christmas ribbon for the edge. Punched out another shamrock on the tablecloth to help it look festive.

A party flowers

Yes we have to have something on the table. What better then flowers. I made then with Flower Soft. Colors yellow/orange, yellow, light blue and purple. The leaves are from Martha Steward punch called Frond.

Mighty Kid wants to be like Super Man

mighty kid

I made this card awhile ago but I thought I would post it today as I have a little while before I will go to the hospital. I’m sorry I have not posted anything but I have been a little busy with my son Kurt he is only 38 and he has been pretty sick for awhile. He went in on Monday and had surgery. They had to remove a part of his colon (it not cancer) he had some large plops that has grown on his colon. See he thinks he is super man. They are cause by a person lifting very heavy things. Let me tell you about my wonderful son (things I did not know when the my guys where younger) No one would ever pick on Kurt’s brothers because everyone new that they where Kurt’s brothers and if they did Kurt would always take care of the problem. The boys where known as The St Martin’s boys is that not nice. How things get pass Mothers. On the other side of Kurt he is a very loving person. All my friends just love him, when he see my friends he will gives everyone a kiss and a hug. He is a very caring person but do not get him really mad. If you do not want to read all of this just skip over but it is kind of nice talking about him and if her new oh well I’m his Mom I can do things like this and he loves me very much.

One day it was summer he was coming home from work he was 17 years old and it was pretty late and we could hear someone yelling, What’s the matter with you? You do not hit a woman! Ladies I will help you leave. I will beat the shit out of you if you hit her again. I look at my husband and he looked at me and it sure sounded like Kurt and we both got up and went outside. So my husband went over to find out and I asked the lady if she wanted me to call the police and she said no that she was going to leave. The guy was so drunk, Kurt told him to go and sleep it off and he came home with his Dad. You never hit a woman we have always told our sons and our three sons will never do that. I could go on and on their are so many other stories. Kurt is really strong and not afraid of anything so now with the surgery he is going to have to take it easy or we will tie him done. ha ha. He is in the National Guard for the Army and he also works for the Army but he does all computer work so that is good.

mighty kid close up

About my card this is one of Mo manning images. He is such a cutie. He is called “Superduper Boy”. If you I added some brads the stars, ball and cars. It is colored with all copic markers.

Thanks for stopping.

Verity is ready for St Patty’s Day

Here is some of my new images I got from Sugar Nellie. I love her images, This little girl is called Verity but this is just her head you can get her hole body and I did. I can not wait to start coloring her also. I want to color so many images and stamps that I could color all day and night and never color all of them. That is ok, I love designing and creating cards so much it is my passion. I remember when I was a little girl and I would color a page in my coloring book I would always have to do just so because whatever I was coloring would not come alive until I had it colored perfect. Like the face they could not take a breath until I had their face all done and it had to to just so. I guess I was a little strange! I went around her face to frame it in with ribbon, their also is two different types of ribbon behind her and on top and bottom. I used designer paper for the background from DCWV (Die Cuts with a View). I used Cuttlebugs Swiss Dots and embossed the strips I laid some of the ribbon on.

I used Nillie Snellen Punches to create the flowers. Martha Stewart punches, Branch, Frond, Autumn Branch, McGill Large Branch and Marvy Uchida punch for the middle of the flowers.

Here is her close up. I started using E35,E34,YR20 and YR21 for her hair and I was not happy with the color of her hair with her skin tone do I added E11 only where I had the YR20 and YR21 very lightly and I so happy with the color it turned out to be. She look like a natural red head. I have 4 natural red heads in my family and that is what their hair looks like. For her skin I used E13, E11 and E00.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy Verity, she is a pretty girl.

Blueberry girl flowers

As you can see the blueberries are falling and these are the flowers I did not make. I do say they look a little blue but they are purple.

Blueberry girl close up

Here is the close up of the little girl. She is so cute. I colored with copic markers. Used a template to create the sky (clouds) background.
